Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays and a social/playtime to follow! For children ages 0-2yrs and their caregivers. Registration is required. 

Join us for Fall Into Storytime! This fun program is geared to Preschoolers (2-5). We will read stories, sing songs, create a craft and do other fun activities related to the theme. Registration is required

PCPLS is proud to partner with Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction and Vidette Makes to host the Fix-It Fair, an event that highlights reuse, inviting the community to get items repaired at no cost.

Help us choose our 2026 books! 

Children ages 5+ are invited to participate in a Halloween building challenge. At the end of the hour we will have a free build session. Creations will be displayed in the library. 

Join our free fitness classes sponsored by PCPLS, Valpo YMCA, and Porter County Health Department! Open to ages 14 and up, with kids 10-13 welcome if an adult joins them.

This month’s Read Between the Lines book is Mr. Whiskers and the Shenanigan Sisters by Wendelin Van Draanen! The books are donated through the Kouts Lions Club and each family gets to keep a copy—registration is required. 

Learn about a master artist’s life and artistic style, and create a masterpiece of your own to take home! This month we will be creating a symmetrical moth painting using the "squish" method- in the style of Van Gogh!

Join us for a Build the First Letter of Your Name STEAM Challenge! Get creative and have fun. All supplies are included—registration is required.

PCPLS partners with LLC K-9 Comfort Dog to present monthly comfort dog visits at the Library. Stop by the branch and visit with Caleb the Comfort Dog! No registration required 

Ages 6-12 are invited to participate in various Halloween themed experiments as well as a simple Halloween art project. Registration is required and opens on 9/17/25.

Monthly Board of Director's Meeting

Enjoy snacks and drinks while following guided steps to create an acrylic painting. This month, we will be painting a pumpkin patch.

For ages 6-12.

Registration required.

Get creative as we make neon skeletons using the grid art method. Snacks and drinks will be provided!

For Teens

Come play board games and video games at the library! Snacks also provided.

An evening story time with stories, songs, and a simple craft. Pajamas optional.
